Overview:

A.J. Virgilio Construction performed site work for the Recreation Building project at the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus.

A.J. Virgilio’s work included:

  • Site grading with a cut to fill of 12,500 cubic yards for building site preparation
  • Reclamation of 13,800 square yards of parking area and roadway pavement
  • Construction of Hicks Way, a 600 linear foot bituminous concrete campus roadway
  • Construction of  4,400 square yards of paved parking areas
  • Installation of 3,600 linear feet of granite curbing
  • Sub grade preparation for 4,200 square yards of cement concrete and bituminous concrete walkways
  • Installation of 3,500 linear feet of various size drainage system piping and associated precast concrete catch basins and manholes
  • Installation of 1,150 linear feet of 4, 6 and 8 inch ductile iron water system piping
  • Installation of 1,050 linear feet of 6, 10 and 12 inch PVC sewer system piping and associated precast concrete manholes within Commonwealth Avenue.
  • Installation of 6,400 linear feet of trench excavation and backfill for electrical, telephone and communication conduit
  • Cold planing and resurfacing 4,700 square yards of parking area and roadway pavement
